The transformation of an existing dilapidated 1880’s Victorian era dwelling into a space which celebrates the juxtaposition between old and new. The design approach provided a new modern form which reinterprets classic scale and detail, with focus on beautiful materials, object, art and landscape.
A study in immersion of stylized deco features into an existing late Arts & Craft/early Art Deco home. The brief called for the first stage to provide functionality through space and storage, imbued with a seamless style into the existing fabric of the home. Expression through detail, texture and colour was our focus.
A complete internal overhaul to this subdued yellow brick post war home. The design aim, to provide a warm family space with character and expression. The existing exposed flamed orange brickwork was used as a focal point, with a play on retro era elements in the design response. The outcome, reviving and joyful!
A new home project on a smaller block in leafy Kew, our brief to create a family home, modern in design and rationale. We sought to maximize the form while providing a clean line aesthetic with interest. Is has been a study in creating our interpretation of the quintessential modern family home.
A new townhouse project on a large, elevated site in Lower Templestowe. Our focus was the creation of a modern design that would stand apart. The use of a monochromatic scheme layered with material variation and volume manipulation maximizing shadow play, all providing a striking aesthetic.
